Canta XL

Canta XL is a typical Dutch car for old people and is allowed on the biking lanes (45km/hour max.). In this installation two people at a time take a seat in the Canta XL and buckle up. They switch on the engine and the navigation systems says: ‘try to turn around’. As soon as they turn the stirring wheel the Canta XL starts to turn around. When the car hangs upside down a picture is taken through the window screen of the two people inside (with their hair and eyelids upside down). The picture is downloadable afterwards. When the car comes in the upright position the navigation system says: ‘you’ve reached your destination’ after which the people can get out of the car safely.
